Oral History Project (2002-2004)

Between 2002 and 2004, former Dole Institute Director Richard Norton Smith and long-time Dole staffer Lahoma Yates conducted a series of oral history interviews with friends, relatives and colleagues of Senator Dole. The interviews span Senator Dole’s career and offer rare biographical insight.

The oral histories include, with few exceptions, a transcript, an audio recording, and a brief biography and photograph of the interview subject. These oral history transcripts may be read, quoted from, cited, and reproduced for purposes of research. They may not be published in full except with permission of the Dole Institute Archive.

Please use the following format to cite the oral history interviews:

Robert J. Dole Oral History Interviews, [Name of interview subject] interviewed by [Name of narrator], [date].

The following is an alphabetical list of interviews currently available to researchers. New interviews frequently become available, so check this page for updates.
